JZ to T56/TR6060 Conversion


This blog covers all the important information about our JZ gearbox conversion kit.
Our kits require the use of an A34x Bell housing, there are 3 different variants of these, J1, J2 and J3 (identified by the markings in the casing) the one we require is J1

Adapter plates:

JZT56STD

This unit is compatible with the T56 gearbox commonly found in the LS powered variants of the VT-VZ Holden and HSV models.

JZTR6060STD

This unit is compatible with the T56 Magnum and TR6060 gearboxes commonly found in VE - VF Holden and HSV models.


* There are many different TR6060 variants, the main variations that affect the kits are input shaft lengths and the position of the slave cylinder mount, therefore we have developed an instructional datasheet detailing how and what to measure, so we can build the spacer pack correctly for your gearbox model.


**We have only confirmed fitment of most GM gearbox variants, If you are planning on using a ford gearbox, please contact us to discuss.


Clutch Kits:

There are 4 main clutch options available for the JZ to T56 and TR6060 conversion kits. They all include a purpose built flywheel designed specifically for this gearbox conversion (not a repurposed / redrilled OEM unit like some other manufacturers). Every kit is also rebuildable and upgradable to the next plate spec in that plate configuration.

Upon ordering a TR6060 Clutch kit we will require the "TUET" number from the label on top of the gearbox, this is due to the large range of TR6060 variants and assists us in identifying the specifications required for the slave cylinder spacers. We have dimensions for most variants on our database and if your model gearbox isn’t in our database (or your label is missing or damaged), we will email you a datasheet with detailed instructions on how to obtain the required dimensions.

Note: Due to the nature of modified cars, motorsports and power calculation methods, Power/Torque ratings are only to be used as a guide and are not guaranteed under any circumstances.

Each clutch kit requires a concentric slave cylinder with appropriate spacers for the specific gearbox and clutch combination.

Clutch kits do not come with flywheel bolts, for JZ and UZ engine, OEM JZ bolts are fine or we can supply ARP bolts.

Single plate:

T56HDSO / TR6060HDSO

JZ to T56/TR6060 Heavy Duty Single Plate Organic Clutch Kit

This is our lowest spec clutch kit, it features great drivability, excellent pedal feel and moderate power handling.

This kit is commonly used in street cars up to approximately 400whp.

T56HDSB / TR6060HDSB

JZ to T56/TR6060 Heavy Duty Single Plate Ceramic Button Clutch Kit

This clutch kit features a Ceramic Button friction disk enabling more power handling and better durability than the organic kit when exposed to more severe conditions.

This kit is commonly used in street cars and budget drift cars up to approximately 450whp.


Twin Plate:

T56HDTB / TR6060HDTB

JZ to T56/TR6060 Heavy Duty Twin Plate Ceramic Button Clutch Kit

This is our most popular clutch kit and features a twin plate design with a billet clutch cover and ceramic button friction disks.

This kit is commonly used in street cars up to approximately 750whp and drift cars up to approximately 650whp.

We option this clutch kit with 2 different clamp rates, lighter for street cars and heavier for drift cars, please advise what the vehicles primary purpose is upon ordering.


T56HDTSI / TR6060HDTSI

JZ to T56/TR6060 Heavy Duty Twin Plate Sintered Iron Clutch Kit

This is what we label as “Race use only” and is the highest spec clutch we commonly offer. Due to the nature of the sintered iron friction disks, the hotter they get, the harder they “bite” or “grab”. This results in a clutch kit that is difficult to drive with in traffic and on the street but performs excellently on the track in drift or circuit cars where power handling is the main focus.

This kit can be configured in several clamp loads and compounds allowing ratings up to 2000whp and is fine to use in vehicles with anti lag launch control and inline restrictors.


Clutch System Accessories:

In order to have the correct clutch throw and actuation, the T56 style concentric slave cylinders require a 3/4” bore master cylinder, we have developed the following components to facilitate this.

JZX6060XMNT

JZX100 to TR6060 gearbox crossmember and mounts, these include oem style rubber isolator mounts but can be optioned with solid mounts if required. 

We have unconfirmed reports of compatibility with JZX90, JZZ30, JZS161, JZS171, JZX110 and SXE10

S6060XMNT

(In final stages of prototyping)

Nissan S chassis to TR6060 gearbox crossmember and mounts, this product has been designed around the Goleby’s parts JZ to S chassis engine mounts engine position, the mount holes are slotted 40mm so should fit most conversion mounts on the market. These include oem style rubber isolator mounts but can be optioned with solid mounts if required. 


Gear shifters:

We have recently teamed up with CUBE shifters to bring you premium products, customised for your conversion. These are not off the shelf products at the moment, they are modified in house to suit the application although we are working hard on developing off the shelf items and expanding the range.


JZX6060SSHFT

JZX100 to TR6060 body mounted short shift kit, this kit is a bolt in solution for manual chassis JZX100 (and similar) models, It consists of a Modified CUBE TR6060 Short shift kit with Leeson Engineering JZX floor plate and custom linkage.


Tailshaft:
